The Zakimi-jo site
disignated on May 15, 1972.
The Zakimi-jo castle is said to have been constructed by Gosamaru, who had lived in Yamada castle in Onna village. He destroyed Yamada castle immediately after his suppression of Kitayama in 1416, and built this castle with the wood taken from Yamada castle. The castle had the keep and the outer keep, and was surrounded by stone wall. It was damaged by World War II, but the stone wall and the basement remains in good condition, showing us the whole territory of the castle.
