中門は、大手門から本丸に至る道の途中に設けられていた二階門で、
黄門とも称された。江戸時代に作られた姿絵図には幼愛遣で、桁行は
6間、梁間3間に描かれている。大正9年(1920)に老朽化のため解体
された。解体の際に作成された平面図には、一階正面の桁行 46 尺4寸」
余(約 14.1m)、側面の梁間が 18尺(約 5.5m)であったことがわかる。
門をはさんで両側には石垣が築かれている。平成 15 年(2003)5月の
地震で南側の石垣の一部が崩れ、解体修復工事が行われた際、多数の」
金箔瓦が出土している。
